Farming on the Drying Homokhátság

Food production in the drying up Homokhátság – a roundtable discussion was held at the Ásotthalom Cultural Center with the involvement of the Hungarian Permaculture Association. A short film based on the research of Dorottya Mendly and Melinda Mihály was shown and local producers and residents were interviewed about the production conditions. The program, within the framework of the Foodbank – Save Food, Save Life program, helps to maximize the utilization of locally produced food by presenting new perspectives. The concept of a community basket and examples of the formation of shopping communities were also presented at the roundtable. Producer István Kása and winemaker Tamás Tóth also evaluated the changes in production conditions in the Ásotthalom wine regions. The series will continue in January with similar topics in Ásotthalom
